Arcadia Is Maxwell Bresler’s Dream State — A World of Corsetry, Command, and Nautical Romance

Some collections feel like garments. Others feel like worlds. With Arcadia, presented in New york, Maxwell Bresler stepped further into the latter.

Bresler’s universe is one built on tension — structure versus softness, discipline versus fantasy. This season, that language translated through corsetry that sculpted the body like armor, military jackets cut with precision, and his now-recognizable nautical striping, woven throughout the collection like a quiet signature.

There was something cinematic about the pacing of the looks — silhouettes that felt both historic and futuristic, textures layered with intention, and a steampunk undercurrent that gave the collection a sense of invention rather than nostalgia. Tailoring carried authority, but never rigidity; the garments moved with a dramatic elegance that felt deliberate.

Arcadia reads like a designer exploring the dream state of fashion — a place where fantasy meets discipline and where theatricality becomes a tool for storytelling. Bresler’s work continues to suggest a young designer deeply invested in building his own mythology, one structured jacket, one corseted silhouette, and one striped horizon at a time.

BACKSTAGE BEAUTY

Makeup artist Jeanette Williams created a luminous, porcelain-inspired beauty look for Arcadia, balancing glowing skin with dramatic vintage accents.

Complexions were sculpted with NARS and flushed with Makeup by Mario blush, then illuminated using Fenty Beauty highlighter for a glass-like finish. The eyes were softly smoked with Chanel shadow duos and defined with NYX eyeliner pencils, while lips were finished with a rich, lacquered shine using Dior lip gloss.

MUA, William Camp IV, created a luminous, sculpted complexion that balanced warmth with soft glamour. Eyes were washed in a gold shimmer from the Pat McGrath eyeshadow palette, catching the light with every movement, while Makeup by Mario blush added a natural flush across the cheeks. Skin was perfected using Danessa Myricks foundation, creating a smooth, radiant base that allowed each model’s features to feel polished yet effortless. William used Sephora’s pro brushes for a seamless blend.

Beauty Tips: A touch of gold shimmer on the eyes instantly elevates a look—pair it with fresh skin and soft blush to keep the overall effect modern and luminous.
